This application was commissioned by the Moscow government. Contrary to the general tendency that everything is done expensively and badly for state money, in this case it turned out to be a very useful thing. And although the topic of city guides for iPhone did not appear yesterday (you can recall the good products from “Vokrug Sveta”), it does not lose its relevance. And the state car accelerates slowly but drives fast. The amount of information on architecture objects in this application is simply enormous. And the process goes on – new data is added regularly. In addition, I think no one will be able to place QR codes on the buildings protected by the state with impunity. And the Moscow government can :). Considering such a code as a smartphone, you can immediately get help on this monument … “Get to know Moscow” is not a full-fledged guide like the same “Around the World”. There is no such functionality as walking. But there are recommended routes, following which you can see more attractions than just walking the streets. Along with maps and routes, there are two more interesting sections in the menu: “Houses” and “Personalities”. In the Section “Houses” for each object you can see photographs and historical information. There is even a button “Audio tour”, but the truth is not on all objects, it is active. But this is a matter of time. In the section “Personalities” materials are selected for famous residents of Moscow: statesmen, writers, scientists. And also on the architects who created the image of the capital. As I wrote at the very beginning, the volume of materials is huge. This advantage also implies a disadvantage – the application always needs the Internet. I can recommend Discover Moscow along with WikiPlaces to anyone who loves walking around the city.
