There are no platformers for iPhone and iPad in App Store, there are dynamic, with realistic physics, simple and very complex, but there is definitely no such thing as iO from BluBox. The new platformer is unique not only for its visual design, but also for a fundamentally new approach to the gameplay. Whether iO can pleasantly surprise fans of the genre, let's see. As I said, iO – A Physics Platformer is a linear platformer. The goal of the game is to get the object from point “A” to point “B” as quickly as possible. Everything would be fine if the path lay on one straight line, but each new level is unique in its design and the presence of various obstacles. The object, also known as the luminous wheel, has the ability to increase and decrease in size, this ability is controlled by the gamer. There are 2 total movements in the game: forward and backward. The movement speed and behavior of an object in free fall depends on its size. If you need to accelerate, reduce the wheel to a minimum and thus give it maximum acceleration, sufficient to overcome chasms. Conversely, if there is an obstacle in front of you, but there is no opportunity to dive under it, increase the wheel to its maximum size and it will not be difficult to jump over the obstacle. The combination of shrinking, enlarging, moving back and forth, and determines success in iO. You will compete in the game with the most merciless opponent, over time. It cannot be stopped, slowed down or somehow distorted, time flows inexorably. Depending on how quickly you manage to complete the level, your result will depend. Game Center is available on iO and has a leaderboard. The control in the game is implemented in a classical way, 4 buttons of the virtual joystick are responsible for the movement and transformation of the game object. The buttons do not clutter up the main screen and do not interfere with focusing on passing obstacles. Is iO easy for a gamer whose arms are growing out of the right place? Passing the first few levels in the training mode is not difficult, the further, the more difficult. Did I like the platformer? Personally, yes! What, you ask? Fascinating and unique gameplay, quality physics, unusual picture. The game allows you to relax, stretch your fingers and at the same time it is difficult to break away from it.
