We continue our spring review of navigators for iPhone. We recently tested free BE-ON-ROAD and GPS Navigation & Offline Maps. Paid navigation programs differ significantly from free ones not only in usability, but also in a set of unique functions, as well as more detailed maps that are regularly updated. The reasons are clear: “Any whim for your money.” Today we have on the test one of the best navigation programs distributed on a paid basis Navitel Navigator. 
In App Store there are a lot of navigation packages from Navitel: Navitel Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and so on. All programs are free, but useless until you buy the appropriate card. After installing Navitel Russia, inside the application you can easily buy any other map (not only Russia) and the program will serve you as a quality navigator in the corresponding country. Without a preliminary purchase and download of a rather large (in size) file with maps, the Navitel shell is useless. 
As a test period, the developer offers to use a free trial period of 7 days with unlimited functionality. After the expiration of the specified period, the ability to lay and follow the route is blocked, offline map viewing remains available. Maps from Navitel are one of the most detailed and high-quality, they are constantly updated and supplemented, which allows you to find previously inaccessible hinterlands on the map. Unlike large cities, where everyone uses Yandex.Navigator, Navitel was in demand in the region and throughout the vast territory of the former USSR. With him you can not only ride, but also go to the forest for mushrooms. Navitel Navigator differs from its free counterparts in a more thoughtful interface, most of the screen is occupied by a map, function buttons and menus are grouped in the status bar and in the side of the screen on the right. At the same time, they practically do not cover the useful space and do not interfere with navigation. 
Navitel copes with its main task, namely navigation, simply excellently: 2D and 3D map display modes are available, route planning to a specific address, nearest POI, waypoints or history, voice guidance indicating turns and direction of movement, automatic day change and nights, viewing the set route and all changes in the direction of movement, calculating the distance and duration of the journey and much more. 
On my iPhone 5s, the application works stably, does not crash and does not slow down, navigation is smooth without lags. It is especially pleasing that in the latest version, even very long routes of hundreds of kilometers are laid in just a few seconds, including recalculation when deviating from the specified path. There are a lot of settings in the navigator: you can change the icon of the vehicle from a car to a motorcycle or a bus, you can see the readings of sensors in real time (average and maximum speed for all the time of use, odometer readings, stopping and travel times), change regional settings ( interface language, voice assistant language and voice), adjust the behavior when zooming in or out of the map, change the display scale. In general, there are many settings and they are flexible enough that will allow you to customize the interface and control for the needs of any user. Of course, if your iPhone or iPad is connected to the Internet all the time, you can use the best free online navigator Yandex.Navigator, no one in the city will compete with it. But Navitel begins where the Internet and Yandex.Navigator end. However, in addition to the main functions, Navitel also offers unique online services: geosocial Navitel, Friends, cloud Navitel, Cloud, Weather and Traffic, all in real time. 
I have been using Navitel Navigator for a long time and not only on iPhone, but also in a car navigator based on Android and I do not plan to abandon it in the near future, and I do not see the need. The application satisfies all my needs for navigation by all 101%, and I do not use even half of its capabilities. If you need a high-quality navigator for iPhone and iPad and you are ready to spend from 849 to 2150 rubles on it (depending on the cost of a particular card), it is not easy to find a better application than Navitel Navigator .
