Each gamer has not only a favorite game, but also a favorite genre. And if for you, as for me, these are strategies – you can safely open the champagne, because one of the best PC strategies of all time was ported to iOS. This is Rome: Total War! As in the desktop version, there are two modes of Empire management available here – a strategic map and the ability to command an army in battle, when capturing or defending a city. Introductory video sequence, quotes when loading – everything is the same here, familiar to those who played the game on a computer. A moment of nostalgia that gives you pleasant feelings! … There are several modes to choose from – the Imperial campaign, the Historical battle or the Quick Battle. With the campaign, everything is clear, a quick fight is great for hone skills of command and control, and the historical battle will recreate real battles that took place between the Romans and their opponents in ancient times. By clicking on the 'Start deployment' button, the player can start assembling troops and placing units. Then, pressing 'Start battle' starts the battle. And away we go! It has everything that fans of the series love so much – a large number of squads, a camera hovering over the battlefield, and the opportunity to show your leadership talent by controlling different types of troops. The graphics can be said a little above average – the textures cannot be called cinematic, but each of the soldiers can be seen separately, watching the battle both from a bird's eye view and literally from behind the shoulders of the soldiers. Rome: Total War is a pretty decent port of the PC version. Although the interface has been slightly redesigned, it is clear that this was done for ease of control on the tablet, which is especially welcome in combat mode, where speed plays a role. So far, the game is only available for iPad, but I'm sure a version for iPhone is just around the corner. True, the price is 749 rubles. – it's a little expensive even for fans, and those who are not familiar with the series are likely to think well before buying. However, Rome: Total War is truly one of the best strategy games of all time and should be recommended to all fans of the genre!
