To view media files from a user's PC, many programs have been created, for example OrbLive. Since Apple devices do not support all formats, and players for viewing downloaded files, but very few applications similar to StreamToMe. This program allows iphone users to watch videos or listen to music on their smartphone or tablet directly from a PC or laptop via Wi-Fi or 3G Internet connection.
And it does not matter at all what operating system is on your PC – Mac OS X or Windows – the application supports different versions of these OS. Also, there is no problem with conversion, since the program plays without problems all the most common (MP4, AVI, FLV, MPG, MP3 and WMV) and some rare formats – MOV, MKV, AAC, WMA.
Usually the disadvantage of applications like StreamToMe is complex settings that are understandable mainly for advanced users. StreamToMe partly solves this problem, since it does not require the installation of separate components or connection to additional servers. After installing the program on the phone, the user will need to install the free utility on the ServeToMe PC as a server. After installation, the user can either save the settings or make adjustments by changing the connection port, authorization, lists of directories and active streams.
Since the application contains an integrated file manager, after configuration, you can immediately select a file to play in the player (located at the bottom of the display). In this mini-player, you can customize the playback order, create favorite lists and enable repeat / random file selection.
