Today I got a review of a program from ABBYY called TextGrabber. The application is a text recognizer. It works very simply, quickly and conveniently. And now in more detail. 🙂
You understand the seriousness of the application immediately upon launching it. The application immediately activates the camera on iPhone, which is already ready to shoot the piece of text we need for recognition. Naturally, the application has support for the Russian language. So, I take a picture of the text, the program offers to select in a rectangle the part that I need for recognition. Feel free to select, click “OK”.

With a little thought, the application produces the result and it is just great. Not a single letter or even a punctuation mark was missed in my recognition variant, although I did not take a photo of the text in the best lighting, with a shadow from the hand and with a rounded page. However, you can see for yourself the result.
By clicking on the send icon, we see all possible options for exporting our text. Everything here is also up to the mark: support for all the necessary services, from mail and simple copying, and ending with all kinds of social networks, Evernote and the Dictionary, which undoubtedly only benefits the developers.
It is also worth mentioning that the recognized text can be translated into foreign languages, which are also found in large numbers. It seems like a trifle, but quite pleasant.
So what do we end up with? Fast, convenient, simple application that does its job perfectly. It has everything you need to recognize text and then perform actions with it. Price – 169r. Expensive? I would say that it is not cheap, you could put a lower price tag, but for this money you get a fully functional version that does your job. And for me this is one of the few applications, after the review of which I don’t want to look for any analogs, but I just want to keep it and continue to use it. My rating is 9 out of 10.
