Someday, all headphones will become wireless, well, except for the technology for sophisticated music lovers. It is really convenient to be free of wires.
Looking to the future, we tested Creative's Sound Blaster EVO Zx headset. These headphones immediately took root in the house, displacing their wired relatives. But besides convenience, EVO Zx also give good sound …
In general, the phrase Sound Blaster I associate with the sound cards of large desktop computers. Now you have to get used to the fact that these are also headphones.
The first thing you pay attention to when unpacking the box is the quality. Everything from cardboard box to USB cable is durable and stylish. There is no sense of plastics caused by the consumer boom products. When even expensive brands began to make things that fall apart in the hands.
Connecting to the device via Bluetooth is quite simple. The pair search mode Bluetooth is indicated by a flashing blue light in the side trims.
When switched on, the headphones also glow with a subtle red light, which is very impressive in a dark room. But this practically does not affect the battery life.
The headphones are compact and fit snugly on the head. But thanks to the comfortable leather pads, the head is not squeezed and well protected from external noise. To hear yourself, you need to speak quite loudly, or turn on the microphone 🙂 After watching a 3-hour movie, I did not feel any discomfort, and my ears remained natural.

The design of the headset allows it to be partially folded, reducing the size by a third. In this state, it is easier to carry or put in a bag.
It should be noted that the volume of the speakers is quite high. Since iPhone at home, I listened to music at minimum volume. In the laptop, the volume threshold was lowered. For the metro and public places, this is definitely good.
And of course the signature bass from Creative. They are present in the entire line of previously tested audio systems. The EVO Zx also did not do without them. Apparently, this is the result of the SB-Axx1 sound processor. As a result, the bland sound of mp3 files from a computer or iPhone becomes much more pleasant.
Well, for special lovers of low frequencies, there is a button “SBX” which is used in the headset talk mode.
With EVO Zx you can also receive calls from your phone. External noise and echo picked up by the microphone are largely suppressed. CrystalVoice technology creates an acoustic zone in which only your voice is heard – nothing else. Therefore, the interlocutor will hear you even in a noisy environment.
In addition to wireless operation via Bluetooth, headphones can be connected to a sound source using a simple cable via a 3.5 mm jack, and even via USB. Don't forget that this is a Sound Blaster. Both cables are included. But, of course, the beauty is in the absence of wires.
The battery in the EVO Zx is very durable. The manufacturer claims 8 hours of playback time. This seems to be true. And this despite the fact that the headphones are quite compact and are illuminated during operation.
You get used to the headset very quickly. It is not always possible to watch a movie using a full-fledged speaker system. The EVO Zx, on the other hand, comes in handy.
