The new flagship from Apple received a large and bright screen, an improved camera, but lost the Home button familiar to everyone. Therefore, some necessary functions are now performed differently. For example, the user may not immediately understand how to take a screenshot on the iPhone X.
Screenshot using keys
The easiest way is to take a screenshot of the screen on the iPhone X using the power and volume keys. This combination remains unchanged on all models Apple, only the location of the buttons differs.
To take a screenshot, you must simultaneously press the volume and power buttons, which are located on the right of the phone. After pressing this key combination, a thumbnail of the image will appear, which can be viewed immediately. When you click on a thumbnail, a convenient built-in editor will open, in which you can process the picture. It has everything you need to highlight something important, draw a picture, make a text note, or crop out excess. To save a snapshot, no additional action is required, everything happens automatically.

Screenshot with AssistiveTouch
Due to the fact that the keys are located on different sides of the phone, not everyone is comfortable using the first method. They also cannot be used in the event of a malfunction of one of the buttons. But the company Apple foresaw this and added the ability to control the phone in several ways – by voice, using gestures and buttons. With the latest version of the operating system, it is now possible to create gestures and virtual buttons using the AssistiveTouch function. By configuring it, you can get quick access to the necessary applications and tools at any time.
To take a screenshot using AssistiveTouch, go to General Settings, then Accessibility. Next, you need to enable AssistiveTouch. After that, a small menu will appear, which by default contains the launch buttons Siri, favorites, home and the device. The last menu item contains functions that require pressing at least one of the mechanical buttons: volume control, screen lock, turning off the phone and a screenshot.
You can leave everything by default, or you can customize the main menu to suit your needs. To do this, add additional items in the “Top Level Menu” section and set them to a convenient location. Moving frequently used functions here, such as a screenshot, makes working with your phone even more convenient.
Once you've turned on and configured AssistiveTouch, a translucent virtual icon will appear on the screen in the lower right corner, which can be easily moved to any location. When you click on it, a small menu opens with the most needed tools.
There are other ways to take a screenshot of the screen, but they involve installing additional applications. Some of them will allow you to change the phone settings and take a screenshot not with a key combination, but only with one button, others create an additional icon on the screen. Some applications will help you not only take a picture or video from the screen, but also transfer everything that happens to your computer or tablet.
